SCAM Claimed to be from my mobile provider 02. I'm not with O2. She eventually hung up as she wasn't getting anywhere with me.

Calling saying they were from Currys / PC World , accent suggested Indian caller, Currys / PC World do not have permission to call me - caller hung up when challenged on this. I suspect it was a scam call (your PC is infected with a virus type scam)

TAXES / HMRC Text recieved to follow the link to gain a tax rebate

Phoned me and played a computer recodred message which claimed to be from my card provider, without telling me who they were. Told me that there had been suspicious transactions on my account and tried to get me to speak to them. I hung up and checked with my bank who told me that nothing of the sort could have happened. Fraudulent telephone call. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

A female speaking chinese or mandarin, no idea what was being said. May have mentioned UPS which co-incidentally I've been receiving scam emails recently purporting to be from them about an outstanding delivery which I can categorically state I am NOT awaiting. FraudFemale recorded voice with American accent (very amateurish) saying they were HMRC and that I had been reported for tax evasion. The case has been reported to the police and would be brought before a magistrate. "Press 1 to speak to a HMRC agent", Obviously I didn't. This country has some of the most advanced telecomms technology in the world. WHY can't the authoriries (Police, BT, the Regulator) take down these numbers?
