Didn't answer. Looked it and and over a dozen reports of various scam attempts including pretending to be HMRC.

Scam. tried to sell something, then when I said not interested, asking where they got my name and number, they changed what they were selling, becoming forceful. I kindly said that they should remove my details from their list and not call again, suggesting they were acting illegally, because I am listed in the TPS, then they slammed the phone down on me.

They cold-call phoned me about renewal of insurance on kitchen white goods. They needed some banking details to alter the payment paperwork because they were giving me a no-claims discount. Complete bunkum. Call supposedly from Liverpool. Probably a spoofed number.
