Received text offering entry into a competition for free laser eye surgery. Reported text to my service provider (EE) using 7726 and to the Information Commissioner s Office via their website, www.ico.gov.uk. Spoke to a pleasant person at Optical Express and they had no record of my name or number. Person was aware of the offer but could not tell me where OE had obtained my number.

"there is a ?2167.67 waiting to be claimed in your name for the mis-selling of PPI on your loans and credit cards. To get this ASAP reply info to this message now." I don t have a loan OR a credit card, no idea how they got my number. I called it and it went to an o2 voicemail so I asked them not to send me rubbish like this. Tried calling again and it rang. GRRRR!
