Possible scam. Women said she was from Amazon and they'd noticed unusual activity on my Mum's account. Told her to press 1 if she hadn't bought something for £700. Mum was suspicious, rang off, got the number by dialing 1471 then rang it back. Women who answered refused to give her name and said she hadn't called Mum and didn't work for a company.

Fraud, SCAM, PHISHING 07440008657 claims to be from HMRC in an automated american accent. I pressed 1 to find out more and spoke to a human (with a fake American accent) who immediately asked for my name and postcode. They hung up when I politely said no.

Very odd. Lady said she was doing research on behalf of a US charity into healthcare and no personal data would be taken. Asked how she got my number and she said it was 'randomly generated' by a computer. Very odd and certainly not into giving my views on our amazing NHS to a country that wants to bloody buy it off us!!

If you answer "hello" or "anything else", the line will be logged as a 'VOICE LINE' and you'll get called back later by a con-artist! If your phone rings and you don't recognize the number DON'T SPEAK! JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear anything & the line then goes dead then you've just successfully escaped being scamme

Caller said they were from O2. Said there was suspicious activity on my account, then a text turned up that looked to have come from O2. Automated voice messaging informing that £500 for gambling + another amount was taken from my account. I replaced the handset after being instructed to press 1, 2 or 3. Checked my account none the less. It was definitely a scammed call.
