Fraud Said they were from HSBC and wanted me to go through security. I said I'd call them back and at that point they gave me the genuine HSBC number (I said I'd look it up anyway). So I called the genuine number, 03457 404404, and wasted my time and HSBCs, as there was - surprise surprise - no suspicious activity on the account.

I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Fraud / Scam............... States they're from BT with alarming call that your router is faulty and that your internet line is public. Then starts to asks questions about the lights on router, who uses internet, even knew home address, at that point I hung up. I contacted BT - they do not have any such number listed in their network, also they confirmed no calls were made to line from themselves.
