SCAM calling trying to be Carphone warehouse. I know this was going to be a fraud a guy with indian accent called before. They keep changing landline numbers and I keep blocking them I have told the guy on the phone not interested. Repeating this to him multiple times hes not taken this in then I wen into repeat mode and kept repeating not interested all the time and the guy keeps trying to talk over me phone company will never do that to customer.

SPAM Recorded message, purported to be from bank fraud department, that someone had sent international transfer of £1100 from my account. Press 1, etc. I hung up. I do not have £1100. I think genuine fraud department would actually talk to you.

A washing machine warranty call. Caller with a London accent asked for me by name and said the warranty on my washing machine was due to expire and that she just needed to update the paperwork and said it would actually be cheaper, started by asking to confirm my postcode & address. I said I didn't know the postcode, she asked if I'd moved, I said no. She said "(used my name) don't you want to renew the warranty on your washing machine?" PPI automated call. Will probably be followed fairly soon after with a call from a private number with some snotty nosed git who knows more about you than you d like. Don t engage them. If you do have a PPI claim print the form from the FSA website and send it yourself. Thats all these guys do anyway and they take 20% (or more) of whatever settlement you get.....
CARE - Scam number - automated call purporting to be from Inland Revenue - threatening cancellation of National Insurance Number due to apparent illegal activity - financial threats got stronger during the call if no action taken - instructed to press "1" to be connected to "customer service officer". Presumably, if pressed "1", would then be coerced to divulge bank or card details or other information - CARE.
Claimed to be from the Credit Investigation Department and, when I told her that I had no outstanding debt, she hung up. Quick search uncovered FCA web page that states: "We believe this firm has been carrying out consumer credit activities in the UK without our permission or authorisation. Find out why to be especially wary of dealing with this unauthorised firm and how to protect yourself from scammers." Been rang by this number several times this week, but they would not leave a message on my answer machine. They rang at 3pm today, so i answered the call. Was told they were Consumer helpline, and i was owed an over payment on a loan in 2011. Never had a loan. so they were phishing. Was told they had been given the wrong information. Don t know how they got my number as Ex-directory.
