SCAM Did I remember having loft insulation under a home insulation scheme? No, because it never happened. I told them in was a scam and they hung up. Voice sounded local, not an overseas call centre.
SPAM Three calls today (so far) from this number. I did not pick up, having seen elsewhere that the phone block 188321 is operated by AQL Wholesale Ltd, and I was not expecting a call from them. Their trade mark seems to be to call three or four times a day if you don't answer. Others report, energy relief, loft insulation and property assistance as reason for the calls.
Although it appears to be a Fakenham landline, it was a recorded message claiming to be from Visa. Claimed my card had been used to purchase goods from Amazon and Western Union. I hung up

A woman with a very foreign accent that I could barely understand, it sounded like she said she was calling from o2 but like I say could hardly understand her. I said I am not with o2 and will be reporting this call to the relevant authorities as it is an unsolicited call, she just said ok and bye.

I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing. Call center Automated call claiming I had suspicious activity on my bank account but went to an agent claiming they were from the FCA. This number is ringing my BT landline every day at different times of the day claiming to be from the BT technical department. The caller says they have been monitoring my broadband connection for several weeks and have detected a number of unauthorised users using my IP address. To correct this they want me to open my computer and accept new settings that they are about to give me. At this point I hang up assuming this is a scam and will give access to my PC and everything that is stored on it.
