Once the cash fee is paid another Indian sounding gentleman phones to get the Western Union transfer number(MCTN)& tells you everything

Phoned and asked for MD by his first name, totally annoying that they think they are buddies and don t have to use the last name. When asked for full name they do have it so why not use it in the first place. Trying to find out insurance renewal date, politely told them that we are not willing to discuss.

They say they are calling about the miss-selling of payment protection insurance. I first got the calls in early May when i guess they were just checking whether the random digit diallings were live numbers and saving them into a list. Now they are selling the list or carrying out surveys themselves. This needs to stop. I know people who work in call centres doing this type of thing. It s a slimey business.

Reports on other sites suggest it s the old "you ve been in a car accident" scam.

These numbers are provided by "reputable"service providers and are used (mostly) by independent marketeers on commission from large companies (e.g. BT, Sky, British Gas, etc.) to push products. I do NOT understand why TPS, ICO, or anyone else seems to give a proverbial **** about the nuisance these people are when you have taken every precaution to avoid them.
