Definitely a scam. BT, Openreach, TalkTalk, Virgin etc., will never call you about a technical issue unless you contact them.

This number has called a number of times and left no message. Eventually, found it was the AA touting for me to renew my membership. Because of this calling practice they have lost my business.

They rang off as I answered and I got the recorded announcement as Hal1 when I returned their call: DM Marketing.
