SCAM I got an automated female voice stating it was bank security. £300 was to pay Amazon and £1100 was by bank transfer. I got the exact same phonecall yesterday from another number. I was to press 1 to speak to someone if I hadn't made these transactions. I have been told by my bank that if anything like this was to happen the bank would notify me with the bank's name and a the name of whoever I was talking to as soon as I answered the phone. They would never phone with an automated message.

SCAM Message popped up on my laptop stating that it was in danger of being hacked and had been temporarily blocked. The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. Called me while I was on Skype to a friend in Australia.
This number called me today just before 2pm. Luckily I have a call blocker app installed, so any unknown number go straight to it. Now I know it s spam and won t answer if they call again.
This company is a respected publisher of lifestyle magazines in which I buy advertising space for one of my clients (I have a long established advertising agency - The Whitaker Partnership Ltd Leeds). The publisher is not a nuisance caller....
