Rang me asking for a different person and unknown address, very persistent, when i asked what it was about, was told this person had contacted them last year about selling some gold. Wanted me to confirm i knew name and address of said person. When i said it was nothing to do with me, caller became quite aggressive and said that i shouldnt have asked what it was about if it wasnt anything to do with me. At this stage, I hung up!

I received several calls from a company called UK Energy Council Utility working on behalf of National Grid. They said that I was basically being overcharged by my current suppliers and asked me for my bill to obtain the supply number. They were very inquisitive seeking information that should have been known. I did not provide the information as they appeared dodgy. I was then told that I should continue to be ripped of by my current suppliers.

Caller said she was from "White Goods Protection" and that my washing machine breakdown insurance was overdue for renewal. I have no appliance insurance and my number is TPS registered. I asked if her company had a website and she said yes. Unfortunately my laptop was not switched on so I could not check, but later when I checked there is no company with that name. I asked where the company was based and she said Sussex. I've received many calls of this nature from Brighton and Hove. When

I ve been called daily by this number but I have a call blocker on my android phone called "Truecaller" (I am not a salesman) which filtered it straight away. It does have apps but is very effective for nuisance callers. Hope this helps.
