I’ve just been called from this number claiming to be my credit card fraud check. It mentions two extremely high transactions, not made by me, then to press 1 to authorise or 2 to talk to customer service. I didn’t, I hung up, checked all my cards. This is a scam. They phoned me on my (not a smart) mobile. An automated American voice stated they were from HMRC informing me that I owed money and they were sending the dept collectors around. To discuss this matter further and settle the debt I should press; 1. Problem is, I did my Tax Return in April and don't owe any tax. I've not owed tax for years. Had a call from this number at 13.30 on 23/02/22. Upon answering i waited for the person to speak first, it was an asian sounding person in a call centre. As soon as they asked how i was today i asked straight out if they were a scammer to which they responded yes they were a scammer and a fraudster followed by oh my god repeated several times. I stated the call should now end and looked online to find number belongs to a sushi bar in London so this number was spoofed/cloned and not the genuine number.

They failed to provide my full name, my address, or any information as to how they got my number other than 'from the government' It's a bit funny because they tried this last month as well off a different number when the government contacted their office to get in contact with me that morning too, they know nothing but your number and partial name
