this number called my mobile this morning..i wasnt going to answer but i did...it turns out to be an insurance company acting on behalf of an injury lawyer scheme..who claimed to have been given an old file with my name on it for a car accident i had 3 yrs ago...i dont drive nor have i had a car accident in the last 3 yrs...the caller promised to remove my details and not call again...

This is a third party marketing company who call on behalf of ALL mobile providers (T-mobile, Orange, Vodafone, O2 etc) In my case it was T-mobile and I phoned 150 from my mobile and requested my PAC number from their retentions department, intimating that I was leaving them. After some nonsense from them I pointed out that the number 01462 439891 was on their web site as an authorised service partner I was told that the issue would be looked into and I would get a call back. They say they are calling about the miss-selling of payment protection insurance. I first got the calls in early May when i guess they were just checking whether the random digit diallings were live numbers and saving them into a list. Now they are selling the list or carrying out surveys themselves. This needs to stop. I know people who work in call centres doing this type of thing. It s a slimey business.

I just accept the call and leave my phone on the side and carry on with what I m doing. They normally hang up after a minute or so listening to me washing up/having a dump or whatever.

As a Careers Adviser I told the caller that instead of ruining peoples lives with scam calls to get a real job that helped people instead and then he just might be forgiven for past sins.

Have had a few calls from this number now. Most recent one when he asked if he could speak to me by name I replied "no you can t" and he hung up. The number he called has never been listed, is never given out to anybody but family or very close friends and is registered with tps so how do these people get a number like this to be associated with a name?

Had a cold call from this number saying that it was about the industrial claim that was going through in my name (it was worrying that they greeted me with my name). When I tried to say that I wasn t in an industrial accident they hung up before I finished my sentence.

This is a prank caller who will consistently say "hello,hello,hello"
