SCAM - fraudulent -pretending to be Dentons law firm
Scam call pretending to be Virgin Media (broadband internet). Standard scam pattern. Voices/accents from Indian subcontinent but claiming western names ("Daniel", "Robert", etc). Presumably using in-country telephone redirection service so as to appear with 0161 prefix. Claimed "We are getting errors from your internet connection." Wanted me to download Anydesk software so they could take remote control of my computer.
Contacted regarding my amazon account and large order to being placed by I-phone. When asked what the order was for the caller became evasive and just said that it was for £737. When amazon orders were checked no such order had been placed and and no communication made. I consider this number dangerous.

These guys send you a code so you click on it and they will have remote access to your mobile phone and gain all the information including your banking. Just delete the messages they send you if you have a conversion with them. Once I told them I knew they were scammers they hung up and went on their way.

SCAM used to work for this company we were essentially paid to call elderly customers and lie to them that we were Dyson and miele and they had to pay for mandatory vacuum servicing etc, they would push us to sell to those with dementia because they could charge more and service more frequently awful company.

It's the tedious call back scam where naive people (marks) call back thinking that it's a local/national number when, in fact, the return call is redirected to a premium rate number without the mark's knowledge. 24 March 2023 got a message supposedly from my bank to say there had been an attempt to make a transaction to a famous Gym company in Aberdeen. I rang this number and got a woman with an AFro Caribbean sounding accent. Listened a while ,gave her no info and told her the line was noisy and would call back. Yet another scam call from someone with my details. I asked how she'd got the details and she said "from a database". I asked which database and she said "her job was only to offer an extension to my washing machine guarantee". As I have no such thing anyway, it was easy to know it was a scam.
