Have been having a rash of calls in our local area from people calling claiming to be from various 'car insurance ' or 'legal service' firms saying 'you were in an accident' asking about wanting to claim for damages. Rung today from the above about "the road accident you have had" - except I haven't had one... Advised her that it was illegal to cold call to tout for business, she insisted they were Ministry of Justice permitted. I said only if you actually knew an accident had occurred, not to ring in the hope. She got a bit antsy when I said i wanted my details removing - told me to ask nicely!!
