They would not give any information out over the matter or even give me my own door number or year of birth - my check to see if it is a cold call. I gave her a mouth full hopefully ruining her day - great stress relief people :)
Called and hung up as soon as I answered. I am registered with the TPS so will be reporting them for breaching that.

Turns out it is a local call number for an American selling investment advice, so best avoided.

Vanquis Bank are sneaky and use lots of different telephone numbers to trick you into answering. For your convenience, I have listed many of the telephone numbers that they use below. If you answer calls from these numbers you may be charged for Debt Management so buy a BT8500 and stop all of these calls easily. Calling about compensation that could be available for a minor motoring incident I ve been involved with recently. They used my maiden name which was a red flag to start with, and I ve not been in any incident. Lady tried to persist with the call after I politely tried to end it so hung up instead. Looking back at call history there s been 6 missed calls from this number in last week with no messages left. Number now added to blocked list.
