SCAM - has to be as I have no contacts in the north of England and the number, once blocked, is followed within a couple of hours by another similar number coming from the same location. This has happened to me 4 times now - the same pattern of one number followed a couple of hours later by another. AVOID as it can only be a scam.

Spent 2 minutes on this call with a guy saying he was from tax office. He said I was hiding my tax money. It ended up with him threatening to come to my house tomorrow to collect. He also said I had to have 10 years receipts from anything I bought! A very aggressive caller! Beware!!
Call Centre - some asian guy who could hardly speak english clearly reckons he was calling from carphone warehouse. Still persisted in selling me a contract even though I said i'd only recently signed up for an 18 month contract. Put the phone down on him and blocked number

Fraud - It's Christmas time and the scammers are out in force. This is a fake HMRC message bot. Whatever we think of the tax man, at least we can rest assured HMRC wouldn't call like that ... they'd send 5-15 letters first. As much as the bot message is amusing to listen to in its fake urgency and menace, there will unfortunately be people, who will get upset by this and fall for it ... DON'T!
This number calls and hangs up immediately. I called back at some point and ended up with the 08009174992. There I was able to let me emphasize from the call list.

This was a call from o2 sales, trying to sell discounted SIM only mobile phone contracts after I ordered a free PAYG SIM card from their website.
This number was not answered by me but an automated voicemail message was left. The call purported to have come from HMRC and instructed that I should press1 to stop court action from being taken against me for taxes owed. Firstly, I do not owe any taxes. Secondly, HMRC do not have my mobile number. This is a SCAM Beware folks, someone out there is always after your hard earned money
