Call center. I answered the call, although I was suspicious as I didn't recognize the number. I said hello, 5 or 6 times, there was a clicking on the line, then a foreign-sounding female voice finally said hello. I said "you took your time answering, didn't you" at which point the call was disconnected.
This person called asking for a person I hadn't herd of and was very rude and abrupt.

Fake BT Open Reach Indian call centre. "other IP addresses are using your internet connection". Want to connect to your PC (potential to raid personal data etc.). Rang off when I said I wanted to check they're not fraudsters.
This number calls MANY times a day. Quite clearly it is an automated call as there is never at the other end!

Text message purporting to come from HMRC in relation to tax refund asking me to follow a link. Looks like a scam
This is a third party marketing company who call on behalf of ALL mobile providers (T-mobile, Orange, Vodafone, O2 etc) In my case it was T-mobile and I phoned 150 from my mobile and requested my PAC number from their retentions department, intimating that I was leaving them. After some nonsense from them I pointed out that the number 01462 439891 was on their web site as an authorised service partner I was told that the issue would be looked into and I would get a call back. SPAM - this caller asked for our acocunts department, refused to say what it was about because of data protection then when he was told we were not interested he called back 4 times trying to get someone else - harassing in my book.

I initially ignored their calls but I am glad I answered a call in the end. They helped me locate an old workplace pension that I had two decades ago. I hadn t given the pension much thought since I left the job. I couldn t of afforded hundreds of pounds to pay a financial advisor so they really helped me out. I do understand people being annoyed about the cold calling though.

Have had a few calls from this number now. Most recent one when he asked if he could speak to me by name I replied "no you can t" and he hung up. The number he called has never been listed, is never given out to anybody but family or very close friends and is registered with tps so how do these people get a number like this to be associated with a name?

Fraud called themselves Virgin Mobile but later found to be Cheetay Logistics PVT Ltd (pakistan) took loads of details promising to reduce monthly Phone bills and provide a new phone. After asking for passwords and discussing a new contract, bank details were taken and phone to be delivered. They tried to then scam £13,065.01 out of a bank account starting with a £9.35 delivery charge, a £30 bank check then took a £24 charge further amounts stopped bank details changed and reported to the fraud squad.
