As with the comments above I received two calls from HMRC saying they were filing a lawsuit against me. I was told to press 1 to speak to a case officer who had a strong Indian accent, asked me to spell my name and confirm my address (which I didnt and put the phone down).

Only the bad ones need a police check. I do not have their number but it can be looked up. They do not charge for admin or so their information states. I received a call from this number it is listed as Commodore Hotel 50 Lancaster Gate London Bayswater London W2 3NA UK yet is unobtainable when you redial after yesterday receiving a call from 01234765043 scam call from a very similarly sounding person very suspicious

Unhappy, Asked me personal questions when I said I don t want to discuss he tried to get me to talk about it by sharing his "personal" circumstances, when I repeated again I am not interested he hung up without goodbye or anything.

Received automated call on 11 Nov 2016 at 8:59. Female voice with Indian accent said "I am ... calling from BT and it is about your broadband line". I said I knew she was not from BT and she hung up. This scam has been going on for several days. It appears to be a spoof number, you cannot call back.
