Received a call from this number with an electronic voice recording claiming that our BT line was to be disconnected. We are NOT with BT! . This is a scam and a fraud. It was also at 8:30 in the morning when not everyone would be up. I do note that googling this number does seem to produce a former genuine use for it, but i double-checked the number. This was a scammer., There is no question about it.

Phone rings, 2 seconds of sounds of a busy call centre, then a rather posh Indian says "Mr.M#####k?" I say "Yes" He continues, "My name is (bogus Indian name) this is the call blocking service..." and I hung up. I don't know why I bother answering the phone nowadays, 99% of the time it is a scam. The only reason I answered this time, is that I am expecting my second Covid-19 jab invite, and another important call. How long is this farce going to continue

This is a loan company using an internet re re router.
Caller knew my surname, when I asked where he got my number he said from a data base. When I continued to question him he became angry and told me to stop wasting his time!!
We get 2 or sometimes 3 calls per day from this number. The call is a recorded message about "government funded boilers etc". At the end of the message it says "Press 2 to speak to one of our advisers. But when I do this it only saves the message to my voice mail. How can I get these nuisance calls stopped? Rang at 13.40 on a weekday - only been at this address 6 months and get more nuisance calls than genuine ones. Thanks to this site I now flag them up as such on the handset so I don t answer them, and gradually they stop trying.
