SCAM they want your sort code and bank account number to stop scam phone calls at a one off cost of £183:99, they call themselves DATA COMPLIANCE and give you a telephone number for Cardiff 0292 000 8716. They started getting very angry when i asked them to supply paperwork and she was shouting at me down the line....which was when i hung up.

The number 0800 862 0818 is genuine, but everyone should always consider if a number is spoofed - try to get them to tell you something about you that they know already. This number has just called me twice, saying he was from Talktalk (though clearly not), worryingly he knew my address, but I told him to stop talking rubbish and to f off, so he immediately rang again, though this time I cut the call without answering
Just had a call to my landline from this number, saying it was a survey about loft installation and asking me to confirm a few details , which I refused to do, and then he said its nothing to worry about, I said I wasn't worried about anything otherwise it would be me ringing up someone, not them ringing me. I let him babble on a bit more and then said let me stop you there, it's my Husband you need to talk to not me and he's not in, so he just hung up. I would say this was a SCAM.
