I Believe this is a scam call 01985216376 - I had a call from this number from a person with an Indian accent calling himself Barry. He said he was calling from open reach regarding our internet line, in the background it sounded like an office environment. I called the number back and got an English speaking gentleman called Richard and no office sounds in the background and he was not open reach. They may be tapping in to UK numbers to catch people out. My internet is working Fine by the way.

Woman with strong Asian accent claiming to be from Opus Energy. As with other reports, claiming there was an error with MPAN number affecting the meter reading. Hung up and she called back annoyed and demanding to speak to the person responsible for the electric supply. Sadly for her that was me. Pre recorded message re missold payment protection insurance. Standard woffle saying I could get up to £4000 in compensation. Press 2 to speak to an adviser, or alternatively save yourself money and put the phone down. The majority of people could deal with the banks etc themselves thus saving themselves the fees that these claim companies would charge.

Rang me 3 times telling me I had recently applied to a trading company which was untrue. Would not give their company name, only first name of callers (2 - one with Indian dialect, second and third caller with African dialect). Had an old BT email number for me (10 years ago). Am now with different provider. . Thought it was a scam and on each occasion put phone down.
