Been rang by this number several times this week, but they would not leave a message on my answer machine. They rang at 3pm today, so i answered the call. Was told they were Consumer helpline, and i was owed an over payment on a loan in 2011. Never had a loan. so they were phishing. Was told they had been given the wrong information. Don t know how they got my number as Ex-directory.

It seems these companies are only doing there targets, As the customer says yes (with OVR function) they just deduct the amount from your account Debit/Credit Card. The biggest fool part is that they are not with there words and for this they have to pay now. At this point when you want to talk again to them and call on those numbers it says number u dialed is not valid . It sucks now what to do i am really irritated. Said he wanted someone called Ban Newman. No one called Ben Newman could possibly have lived here for the last 20 years, as we have and had our number for 20 years and are on TPS, so either someone has misused our number or they are lying. If they call again I shall report them to the TPS and anyone else I can find.

After three calls yesterday about the same thing, all from crooks saying they were from Talk Talk, this man had rung to tell me my router had been compromised, though I did not pay much attention to what he said was wrong with it. I told him what a bad line it was and got him to repeat several times. He said he would call another time but I told him not to bother. I said I knew who it was calling. You can easily stop these calls; Laithwaites, but on phoning back just an answer phone message which says your wine club tried to call you and to stop the calls, press 1 and leave the number and it will be removed from the list.
