This is a scam. Told I owed money ($4000) form a credit card I had from 2010 to 2016. Would not give me proof of the debt. I never had a credit card during that time period. Said they are going to try to take $8400 from my bank account by serving papers to the county clerk that is in my county. I spoke to a couple of attorneys which said it sounds like a scam. The debt is past the statute of limitations in my state which is 4 years. Her name is "Tracy", the number she called me from is (980) 3

I'm not even living in the UK and the phone number I got called on is a Dutch one which I do not use very actively. I didn't answer but it's safe to assume that ignoring this number is the best course of action.

Went through all the comments, I found some painful, while some were funny. My conclusion is most people can still get scammed just because they can’t read in- between the lines. I’ve be victimized. Now I have a resident expert and a professional hacker who helped me recover my funds and so far, it had been worth it. Hackers easily know a bitcoin scam. Called from private number and left multiple voicemails requesting to speak to a company director, gave this number in the voicemails. Non-Anglophone accent.
Hangs up immediately when I pick up the phone (international call from London to Denmark). Extremely annoying with several calls daily.

Was an answerphone recording telling me I owed money to the Tax office. I blocked the number as I'm sure HMRC don't use mobile phones to make calls, and will find a conventional method of contacting me rather than a dodgy auto service.

SCAM Another happy go lucky "Fraud Office" call, about "Unusual Activity on you account", who get potty mouthed when you inform them no transaction has occurred or is pending according to your banking app. Same thing everyday, so used to it I can quote the entire automated call back to them.
