Recieved phone call from 01483577441 at 1045am on Saturday 28th January 2023, Preporting to be from Amazon, stating they were witholding a payment of £700.00 As they suspect it. Asking me to press 1, which of course I didn't. This was a recorded message. I have never bourght anything of that value. This is a scam. beware.

This person claimed to be my child who had smashed their phone and wanted me to WhatsApp this number, which I didn’t do. They said they had called from a friend’s phone 07599569709 which was about to die. This is terrible preying on parents. I don’t know what would have happened if I clicked on the number. I got a text from this number pretending to have a verification number for Microsoft. I refreshed the website and got Microsoft to send me another a verification number. When Microsoft text you, it will say MICROSOFT. If a mobile number comes up, DO NOT USE THAT CODE.

I received a recorded message telling me that an attempt had been made to use my credit card for the sum of £900 and that if it wasn’t me I was to press option 1 (there were no other options) when I called the number back I was told by recorded message that the phone was switched off.
