SCAM: Phone rang and then caller, a computer, hung up when I didn't speak! Suspected computer call trying to sniff out voice lines. If you answer then the line is detected as 'a voice line' and will usually be logged or routed through to a sales person. You'll be called back later by some sales dude. They're usually trying to flog or get you to sign up for house insulation or some scam survey based on a government scheme. They're usually quick to say they're not selling, simply enquiring; surveying; etc.

I'm more and more convinced it is a scam. I was called this morning, by an automated voice, that there is a proceeding against me because I didn't pay my taxes, and if I want to avoid further consequences (including jail!), I should press 1. Pulled over, pressed 1, a female voice greeted me and asked for personal data. I didn't give any, and asked if there is a number I can call them back on. She said she would call me back later instead. Once home, checekd with HMRC, no issues with my status or taxes.

Got a call from this number said they were from Talk Talk........I realised it was a scam so when I said that I didn't actually have a pc or laptop and that it was at work she told me to go to hell !!

Lady with Indian accent claiming to be from "The Phone House Company" and wanting to upgrade me to a new iPhone 11. I asked how they have my number and she said from a shared database of all UK providers, although this would seemingly breach GDPR for sharing customer's contact details and wouldn't make sense for the businesses to risk losing customers this way. I am suspicious of this number because after receiving a possible ?phishing call I made a 1471 call to discover the number the call came from I was given this number, which I rang. It was answered by a man who told me he was in Kent and i told him why I had called his number but nothing else(my name or location) i suggested he should look into how this could have happened and that his line might be compromised somehow.
