Phishing call, avoid
I was called by these people and sold a policy to cover my Hotpoint appliances for 12 months. The person seamed to know about my Hotpoint purchases and gave the impression that hes was actually from Hotpoint. I took out the cover and cancelled an existing cover with Legal and General. When I wanted a repair doing and contacted Hotpoint they arranged the repair and then told me I had no cover in place and billed me. Trusted to answer as it's a number local to me. Turned out to be an automated message claiming to be from VISA payments to say that my card had been charged £300 to Amazon and £1100 to Western Union, encouraged me to press 1 to dispute charges. Decided it was going to be a phishing scam and hung up.

These behaviours are intrusive and counterproductive as they undermine trust and have no positive quality at all. Thanks if some action can be taken to prevent. The phone rang again even after disconnecting for 10 seconds with the same number.
