Trusted to answer as it's a number local to me. Turned out to be an automated message claiming to be from VISA payments to say that my card had been charged £300 to Amazon and £1100 to Western Union, encouraged me to press 1 to dispute charges. Decided it was going to be a phishing scam and hung up.
Received a call from this number trying to sell energy saving windows and doors. 2 days later received exactly the same call but this time rang on a mobile. Number is 07879729385.

She then asked if a friend or relative may have been involved in a car accident etc, but as soon as I said no and asked for my number to be removed , she hung up. I was called from this number, claiming there is something wrong with my internet connection and saying that if I didn't answer his questions he would cut me off from BT who he said is providing my access. Very insistent, wouldn't give me details how he came to have my number but didn't know my name! Yes, ridiculous but maybe someone else would believe him. It sounded like a call centre in the background, definitely fraudulent.
