Can't say definitively but caller claimed to be from BT but did not have my account number or ask by name so I just told that that's a bit odd and hung up.

The same for us - scammers. Luckily we have BT Guardian so have just added these time wasters to my blocked list so they can't get through again!
Appears to be a local number however call is from an international call centre. They asked to perform a quick survey and quoted some personal details. They weren't clear where they called from.

Received a call from this number with an electronic voice recording claiming that our BT line was to be disconnected. We are NOT with BT! . This is a scam and a fraud. It was also at 8:30 in the morning when not everyone would be up. I do note that googling this number does seem to produce a former genuine use for it, but i double-checked the number. This was a scammer., There is no question about it.

This sod rang me at about 7.30 to night. I live in Edinburgh, and I thought it was a taxi company (there is a taxi company in Edinburgh, whose number starts 0131-777), but the bloke, with a very pronounced Asian/Indian accent said that he wanted to talk to my wife to discuss her account with them. As I am the account holder, he was clearly talking bollocks. I toyed with the idea of being racially offensive, but I couldn t think of anything (which annoyed me!), so I kidded on I was a Detective Sergeant with
SCAM received several phone calls via WhatsApp demanding payment for providing a service befor anything would be done. Lady admitted was of German origin and was ringing from Bournemouth. Payment was to be via PayPal or Amazon gift cards only, on refusal became more aggressive.
