The same experience as Rob, except that the caller (allegedly BT Open Reach) got further along the line before I realised it was a scam and rang off. However, in that time malware had been installed on my computer and was already beginning to use money in my PayPal account. I have finally rectified this, as well as with my bank. SPAM A similar number called me earlier twice today (07834 247675). This number has just called me (07834 241177) using a recorded message, claiming to be from the Department of Work and Pensions, to say that my National Insurance Contributions have been suspended.
No idea who it was but the heavy Indian-Pakistani accent meant that I had no idea what this person was saying. Hard to believe any legitimate company hires someone who’s accent make them unintelligible. Blocked.
