This is the UK version of a scam running amok in the US. The supposed company, microsoftechs.com, contacts people and claims there is an issue with their computer. The claim to be partnered with Microsoft and gain confidence with all the classic scam talk. Since 07 June 2021, I have received between 3 to 8 calls per day from this number (01970 800 171). Today I answered the phone twice, but the caller immediately hung up both times. I've tried googling the number, but nothing has come up as to who it is, or if its a company, all that's its registering is calling from Aberystwyth (UK). Thinking its a SPAM caller?

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.
