I had a call from 01491476930 which is local to me. The voice message informed me there were two transactions on my card which looked suspicious and that I should dial 1 to speak to an adviser. This sounded very much like a scam so I put the phone down. If my bank had found a suspicious transactions, their fraud team would contact me. This may be a genuine call but I would rather be safe than sorry and will investigate myself rather than speak to a potential scammer.

As I am a Housing Rights Worker for Shelter, I am well aware of how to get repairs actioned. They went silent when I explained this. It was a recorded message with a very polite womans voice stating she was from bank security advising that there was two suspicious transactions from my account one was £300 pound from Amazon and the other was a card transaction from abriad of £1300. The recorded message then asked me to press ONE to speak to an advsor. I hung up the phone immediately and called 1471 the call was timed at 1345 hrs on 26-01-2023,
