Calls and drops the call. Probably scam/spam.

Called me at 7 am and didn't answer as my phone was turned off. Blocking the number.

Someone from CARS stating my name and asking for me to confirm my address and postcode and ended up in a strop because I refused. They claimed to be calling regarding "Personal business"

Claiming to be from a legal company asking about a car accident I'd had in the past 2.5 years (which I haven't had). This is the third time I've been called, first two times was from a Kilmarnock number. I have not had a car accident during this time. A scam where they put in an insurance claim saying you were injured even if you weren't.

noisy background then asked if I could hear them, then if I needed a removal firm - I answered no, but this was followed up by a request for my address details so they could send me a gift card - I hung up at this point

"BT Technical Department" saying my internet connection will be cut off sometime today, asked me to restart my computer. I'd say dangerous rather than harassing, because they're trying to steal information from my PC

Have been having a rash of calls in our local area from people calling claiming to be from various 'car insurance ' or 'legal service' firms saying 'you were in an accident' asking about wanting to claim for damages. They come from various numbers in different towns - Goole, Machynlleth, Peterhead, Thurso, Merthyr Tydfil,Yeovil, Strathy,Manchester (4x), Leeds and more - this is just off my phone. Recorded message from bank security saying your card has been used for Amazon prime and a bank transfer.

PPI. SMS about my claim which I have never made

This number called me twice on 2nd December - stating "THIS IS BT RINGING" telling me there is a fault with my Internet and asking me to do - this, that, etc etc.I said I'd ring him back which I did --- I tried and it's unavailable. This caller gave me his BT I.D. number: 65001 BT -- Calls like this, and there are lots of them !!!!, are really upsetting ---I HATE SCAMMERS LIKE THIS BADLY SPOKEN FIEND WHO PRATTLED ON AND ON TELLING ME HE WOUDL FIX MY BT iNTERNET PROBLEM. - SICKENING AN

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1618144xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI claims, financial services, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
