Didn t answer the call and came here to check the number. Lots of these apparently foreign numbers are actually originating in the UK by using software diallers that mask the caller s true location.As other posters suggest, a good rule of thumb is - if the number looks suspicious it probably is.

An male idiot called me to follow up on a brochure I had ordered. I told him I previously did arrange for a home visit and these planks cancelled it at 2 hours notice citing a broken down car. I told him that this was a lame excuse - hadn’t they heard of car hire? He kept saying “ we can foretell a breakdown” repeatedly! Checked 1471 and found I had been called (no message left). Didn t call back because I know that 0844 is a rip-off number that s always chargeable.
