Cold caller. Automated call.
I was called by someone as part of a recruiting agency. Please be aware that companies employ call centres to make calls on their behalf. These are people who are being paid to call on behalf of other companies. If you received a call from here saying you re a claimant of some kind it means that department has been fed bad data. Please don t be horrible to the people on the other end of the phone. At least they have a job instead of being paid by benefits.
I m generally pretty careful giving out my details but for some reason this time wasn t. The company called me I was given a name John Quinn and they seemed to have alot of my details already and were very pleasant. But looking back they were desperate to get my details and evasive of giving an actual amount. They promised me an email the same day and a call at 15.30. Neither of which I got. I spoke to the bank, they weren t very helpful either. Eventually I cancelled my card an froze my account. Not ideal

Posed as Amazon, claiming that £90 had been removed from my account. Was initially an automated message, when I pressed 1 to speak to someone they said: "Hi there, how can I help!?" I replied "Well, I don't know, you called me!" and they hung up!

It was the "Mobile"-masked number first, which I decided let go to missed call and I did well, because 10min later I had to make the Glasgow-looking masked number go to missed calls too, making this an impossible coincidence for an unused phone. Not on contact list, phoned but left no voicemail so I’m assuming this was a nuisance call, if it was a genuine caller they normally leave voicemail, I only pickup calls if they are proven numbers in my contact list.
