Someone just called me on this number. I could hardly understand a word he said - he was shouting over a lot of noise in the background. He said he was from the NHS and wanted to discuss Covid symptoms so I asked him what the first digit of my NHS number is and he hung up. Clearly didn't fancy the 10/1 odds of being able to guess it correctly...

Call received from a guy calling himself "Albert" from "Capital Vintners"wanting to tell me how good investing in fine wines would be for me. I tried telling him that I was not interested but he kept interrupting me to the point that I had to be rude to him. There is a legitimate company called Capital Vintners Ltd although I doubt very much if this call was from them as the telephone number is from a location in Pontypool and Capital Vintners Ltd have a contact address in London. Phoning persistently over the past few days from different numbers. Some kind of survey scam, but they hang up as soon as you deviate from script. If they call, don t give away any personal info: don t even confirm your name. Instead, try to politely find out their company name and address. Then send details to offcom / TPS / your MP etc (perhaps with a similar level of persistence?), until someone does something. It s just an idea. Good luck!

Just got a call from Pauline claiming to be from Safe Call Solutions. She wanted to sell a box which would block unwanted market survey and cold calls. The cost would be 96p per week. I told her I would get back to her and the telephone number she gave was 03303530023. However when I dialled 1471, the number was 01273041661.Needless to say after reading other people's comments on this site, I will not be getting back to her.
