I was called on my landline from this number at 10.15am on Friday 28/4/23. The caller ended the call without speaking. This seemed suspicious to me.

This is not a scam I have covers for all my electricals,this is from homeshield direct and I also have paperwork and I recently phoned them to replace my washing machine as it broke down and had someone come out to look at it and few weeks later had a new washing machine.had to pay extra for delivery and old washing machine removal

To all those trying to trace there package from Aliexpress by ringing this number they display on there tracking, please do not. The best way to resolve your problem is to just wait, most packages arrive they are never just kept at a Royal mail office. If your package does not arrive in the time frame set out by Aliexpress, this can be seen on there site in your orders, this is time to open dispute upload image of tracking get full refund.
I am disturbed by this number, they just want to hear what is your name, they come up with a strange story and immediately hang up.

Called me up (I was selling a motorbike on aurtotrader), said he was keen on the bike (only having seen the ad). Then asked for my bank details to pay me a deposit. At the time I thought that was ok, but on reflection why would he give a deposit on a bike he hadn't seen? Also wanted to do it in a hurry, so something not quite right. Not saying a scam, could be innocent but felt a bit weird.

They cold-call phoned me about renewal of insurance on kitchen white goods. They needed some banking details to alter the payment paperwork because they were giving me a no-claims discount. Knew enough about me to make this plausible. I 'needed to go to an appointment' [actually true] so I had to ask them to phone back tomorrow - which they were readily willing to do. Had a call from this number at 13.30 on 23/02/22. Upon answering i waited for the person to speak first, it was an asian sounding person in a call centre. As soon as they asked how i was today i asked straight out if they were a scammer to which they responded yes they were a scammer and a fraudster followed by oh my god repeated several times. I stated the call should now end and looked online to find number belongs to a sushi bar in London so this number was spoofed/cloned and not the genuine number.
When I answered the phone there was an immediate message telling me I was first in the queue. I hung up and will block this number.

Missed call, left no vm, no msg, nothing to ID themselves, usually means something crooked these days. Don't know anyone in Manchester, would not have answered it anyway. Blocking this no. & reporting it to provider, etc., or anyone who will take note, if u do that every time for every nuisance/phishing call, it mostly stops for a while at least. Beware, stay safe.

Claims to be BT openreach technical department. couldn't confirm account holder name. wanted me to use laptop or computer to check speeds. Told him I had done that already this morning and was quite happy with it but he was insisting I tried it on my computer or laptop. I was apparently overpaying for the speed i was getting and should be refunded.?!?!? hung up at that point, I couldn't be bothered listening anymore.

I was called this am on my mobile. Delay in connection. Caller purported to be from EE and offered me a special promotion from EE of40% off a new phone. Sounds like a scam to me.
Still not sure who called, rang it back as expecting contact with Brentford County Court, the call was answered by answer machine that said "Trying to connect you" then some music and then the line went silent so I cut the call when that happened and still no answer. Seems dodgy now but will see if they ring back.
