Just had another call from this number, second today. So picked the phone up to them, and they hung up 3 seconds after connecting.
SCAM I answered as it was a landline (Cambridge location) Automated voice message apparently from HMRC warning of possible tax investigation - then to press 1 to transfer. I hung up at that point so did not hear the other options.
1 day agoThis number is pretending to be NHS. They sent me a link to enter and "apply" for my NHS COVID Pass. The message also says "Failure to apply may result in a fine". And the link that they sent ends in .com and not in .ukReply

"Brian" called from this number. He called me last week from a different mobile (which I blocked) introducing himself as "Barry". I recognised his voice and told him to jog on (words to that effect) so he didn t have the opportunity to tell me again that he was calling on behalf of a creditor who was threatening to take legal action regarding insufficient loan repayments. This phone number has been an issue with my house phone. This number has appeared on my VM bill for the moths of Oct, Nov,Dec,Jan ,Feb and March before I realised I had not made the call. It appears every 12 hours as a call that lasts less than 1 minute and each call is charged at 39 pence . Does not sound a lot until you add it up over the period of time which then accounts for over £60.00.
