SCAM call regarding refund for overpaid appliance insurance. Knew my full name. Call came in on landline.
Called twice. Recorded message suggesting two payments made from my account £300 from Amazon and £1000 international payment might be a scam and that I should press 1 or 2. I know it wasn't from my bank. Believe it's a scam call from a premium number that charges extortionate amount per minute.

SCAM Cold call from John of the equity team claimed changes to equity release scheme, wanted to ask me questions to see if I was eligible 'phishing' said I wasn't interested, he said I didn't need to be at this stage I then said he had cold called and it was illegal he said that wasn't right. I repeated he was a cold caller and I wasn't interested. He remained polite but realised he was getting nowhere. I withheld my number and rang 01970607568, it rang, then automated voice, number not accepting calls.
It was a recorded message saying that money had been taken out of a bank account and that I should press 1 to speak to an advisor. The name of the bank was not given.

Called today 21.07.23, Indian sounding call centre claimed they could save me 30% of my O2 bill, I am not with O2, and when I asked where they found my number they said it was from a generated call list. My phone has the function of bringing up the business name when a call comes through, so when I proceeded to tell the caller that the actual call seemed to be coming from Gibb & Evans, he became a little confused! This is a scammer's number. They claimed to be from EE accounts department to say my last 2 payments have not been made via debit order and could I press 1 to update my account details. He was very insistent that I do it right now or my account would be closed my phone cut and costly penalties incurred. I hung up as I am not and never have been with EE.
