Call from heavily-accented female who told me I have lots of viruses and malware on my computer. I asked where she was from - Windows department(!) I pretended to be shocked and asked her how she could tell and she got me to open event viewer - which I did, to see the normal number of errors and warnings. She sat there while I pretended to delete them all, then tried to get me to connect to some very dodgy-sounding website, which I was not about to do, despite virus & malware checkers running in the backgr

The caller stating saying about the RSPCA so I listened to what he was saying and as he went on realised he was going to ask for money, ?10 a month thats all, I said no thanks, then he went on about cruelty to animals and said what about ?1 a week, I still said no thanks, had to hang up in the end

This number called me. there was an automated message saying my National Insurance Number had been compromised and was being used in Wales by someone else. Prompted me to listen...

Some nonsense about a survey to find out if I was owed PPI money etc

Over 20 calls in one evening from MyPlanet UK Solar Panels.

Possible fraud from someone claiming this as their phone number. Wanting to check who they really are.

Called me but when I answered the phone it was a recorded message. The message said something about 'if you do not wish to have calls, then call (so so and so so)'.

Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

Tried to sell me first page on google, told him I was already on page 1 with my primary search phrase, "no you re not, you can t be without have a sponsored ad" We ll do your research and stop being lazy I replied, then I hung up.

"David" from Microsoft called about my computer. He hung up when I didn't respond. Clearly a hoax.

Number called and said they were from Albany Insurance relating to my motor collision. Scam!

Just received a call from this number but no answer. Fed up with all these scam numbers they are a waste of my time.

Same here. I make it a policy not to say anything if I don’t know the caller.
