I realized it was not a scam but paperweight. It was just strange that the call lasted 1 second and nobody answered. I called them to fill help me fill out disability related benefit forms. They tried to call me back.

I received a text from this number claiming to be my bank - reporting an alleged suspicious spend. Not something I recognised so responded N as advised. Nothing further from them as they were supposed to call back. Is it a hoax? Obviously not my banks contact number.

They said you rang this number and I reiterated I hadn't and they said you have, so I said no I haven't and told them to go away and put the phone down. Called by this number on 5th may. I`m told my someone has tried to take two payments totaling thousands from my account. The man did`nt mention my name but said he`d transfere me to another department. If the transaction was wrong. He also did`d mention what card or bank was being threatened. Cold-calling to do with promoting books on Amazon.com for self-published authors. I am not the person they’re trying to contact, although they have the same name. Poor research on their part. They also have my email address. It looks like a London number, but I’m not 100% convinced that it’s UK based. They referred to Amazon.com, not Amazon.co.uk. Caller had an American accent. Other websites say its Indian call centres asking for details claim to be EE or o2 or Virgin so that doesnt sound very authentic does it - and if you havent asked for Indian call centres to call you its spam and a likely fraud
