My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Weird phone call. Called me up on Skype and all you you hear is a voice saying "please hold the line". Call the number back and it instantly gives you the error tone.

I had called the 033.... number to update my payment details, and they were unco operative so i cancelled the membership only to be called and called again by an operator for the rac on this number who wouldnt let the matter drop.
