Someone called from this number on Saturday 10/09/2022 around 11:44 (BST) telling me that I must pay my tax or I will be charged of Tax evasion. I am worried.
I received a call from this number saying someone had bought something on my account for £700 and if this was not me to press 1. The voice was female and well spoken. I put the phone down, then checked my Amazon account. This purchase had not been made so probably it is a scam.
As soon as I dial this number a voice comes on to say that this number cannot be connected followed by another voice that says that calls are not being answered by this number - please try later. Missed a call to my mobile from this unknown local Nottingham number. Suspicious as I haven't given my number to any but a handful of friends, and my doctor/dentist/pharmacy. No message left. If you speak then the line is detected as 'an active voice line' and logged as such, a scammer will then be calling you later, and usually using a different number! If you don't recognize the number calling DON'T SPEAK, JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear a voice and then the line goes dead then congratulations - you've just successfully escaped being scammed! My system has not been compromised, as I have all my security settings nailed down and up to date. Fraud - I think. A male with I think and Asian accent called from this number. He asked for me by name and said he was calling from Microsoft then asked if I was the main user of the computer in my hone. I asked "Which Computer is that then?" and he hung up. Another number check site has lots of people checking this number and it appears to be from various different places so I think it must be an attempt to access a persons computer or something like that.

Calls from 0115-677-5963 are a Scam! If ever you don't recognise the number, DON'T SPEAK & JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear anyone and after a short pause the line goes dead, then congratulations you've just successfully escaped being scammed! This is because it was a computer calling trying to establish if your number was in use and if a voiceline. If you'd spoken, your number would be logged as a voiceline and some clever con-artist would then be phoning you later.
