States from curry’s yet was a call centre with foreign speaking people. Don’t believe it was. Not from the village the number is recognised from.
Suspect it's Cognism or similar checking they have the correct mobile numbers for contacts they're selling. Ask for you by first name, then when you say it's you, they say a random surname and then claim they must have a wrong number.
The man on the phone was a an Indian guy saying that he was calling from virgin meadia and my iPhone address was found in America. They wanted to get my details .

Received a 39 second audio file via whatsapp from this number on 8.1.23 at 1108 hrs. Nothing played. This was quickly followed by a whatsapp message at 1108 hrs just giving a UK postcode PO17 6HT. Be wary - just incase.

Claimed to be calling from "credit investigation unit" and government had shortlisted me to write off 90% of my debt. I got him to stop, then said I was recording the call and began quizzing him. The story he spun twisted and flipped, wouldn't answer how/why the government knows what my credit status is, or who compiles the shortlist, or where his employer got it. I repeated that I was recording the call and suggested it was a scam. He swore and cut off the call.

Banking Call from Indian sounding lady, says was calling from a business called Block Chain about my investments. I have no investments wit this company so asked her to remove me from her contact list immediately. She asked me to listed to her about the investments but when I repeated to remove me from their contact lists the call was dropped.

Called, said they were from our bank. Said there were two withdrawals of substantial amounts that seemed out of character for us. Then said they needed to go through security questions. I hung up, called the bank and it's another scam.
00918 8266 89331. Rang at 12.15 pm. Dopey number so ignored. Answerphone kicked in. No message left. SCAM. Number now removed. Back to real life living now!

Indian male called Alex purporting to be from BT telling me I had a problem with my internet and they were getting urgent error signals. I knew it was a hoax call, had them before, so asked him twice what the signals were and he put the phone down. I googled the number that came up, 01438 318251 and its for a homeless shelter in Stevenage. Indian scammers using business numbers for those that really need help! Sick b$%^A$%s!

Said that my Bank card had been used twice today and if it was not me gave me the stale ring 1 or ring 2 options. Have not called them back and have no intention of doing so. I am moving from BT because of horrific service. I received a short automated message from BT - stating that they were taking over my line. I called to query this. The guy who answered verified my number, but it was not my number. I told him it was not mine and he abruptly hung up. I called back - the second call handler couldn’t understand the situation and became annoyed and hung up. My phone rung again and it was a scam call centre from abroad offering to cover my washing machine but I was to pay today.
