I had a call this afternoon apparently from this number 08000234567, which I know is the number of the Financial Ombudsman's Office, when the caller said he was from the fraud dept of my bank. I had called the Financial Ombudsman earlier in the day on that number. It did not feel right and when I challenged the caller he put down the phone. Had the same as Judit when trying to call back after missing the call, which first showed up as an 0113 number in Edinburgh. Rang again today on this number and I answered: Indian guy with thick accent saying I had a car on finance in the last 8 years. Obviously this applies to most people. I just hung up. This occurred the day after listing my car for sale, so it's obviously a scam targeting those selling cars on Gumtree or Autotrader. I doubt they could tell you anything about yourself if you asked.
