It seems that this number is associated with on-line scammers purporting to be from Microsoft in Reading. Um, a Glasgow number in reading, I don't think so! They become very abusive when contradicted or challenged. The latest representative called into question my lineage and suggested that I performed carnal acts with my mother. Slanderous in the extreme!
Seems to come from Cardiff, I had a missed call on my mobile so tried to call them back, but the line was dead - probably one-way gateway of some call centre? Who is it, did someone speak with real person behind this number?

7/3/2018 Guy phoned from a company called DAG he had an English accent but was making enquiries about the cover on my washing machine ( which we had with D & G originally,but it has not been renewed for a few years. I never gave him any details, but he slipped up when he said Hotpoint washing machine. I said we have never owned a Hotpoint, he then immediately put the phone down. Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 12696048xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with insurance marketing - Life Insurers 'Review Department'. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
