SCAM Purporting to be from our internet provider, saying they have attempted to contact us several times without success. They ask you to press 1 to speak with a manager! Do not press 1, total scam & the line will stay engaged if you hang up until the automation has gone fully through its spiel.
Like all the other comments, this was a recorded message claiming to be from Inland Revenue (I should have smelled a rat immediately at that point - it s HMRC now...) and that I was being sued. Brain not in gear, and in panic, dialled 1, but silence at the other end, then call terminated. I am now so angry. Automated call claiming to be from VISA's security dept. concerning about two payments - £400 and £700 - that had allegedly been taken from my VISA card this morning. Press 1 to . . . etc. No identifying information at all. Nothing to make this in anyway personal to me . . . I'm assuming scam (but will check!) If it is then I hope all of their teeny, tiny genitalia get scrotum rot and drop off, and that they all suffer short but incredibly painful deaths!
It is obvious that the firm making these calls is also manipulating this forum. Both are equally shite. In my case they have a pretend-itslocal pseudo number. Jail for you soon. Not soon enough.

Phoned at 13.20 29 April purporting to be from Halifax Fraud department stating there had been suspect activity on my account and requesting various card details in order to cancel the transactions. I called the Halifax Fraud number and cancelled my card.
Fraud, number doesn't exist if you call it back.
Same here - registered domain so having loads of harassment calls. Now on blocked list.
