SCAM I was called from a lady called Lisa. She sounded Indian. Anyway I am lucky because I have been allocated a free discount card. Free, up to 40% off shopping, Tesco etc. Also they will send me free flight tickets for me and my family, anywhere in Europe. Didn't want my bank account no. just my sort code and account number. So they could credit me £1. I put the phone down. I wonder if I will get my free discount card in the post as promised.
Just got called on this number but it was prefixed by 011 44 and continued with 1256 49871. Probably because I live in Canada! Who the heck is this calling me here? They didn�...

Total SCAM. Asian man prompting me to remember details of a non existent life insurance policy. After being passed to 2 different Asian voices and having to repeat the information they d fed me and being told to lie when asked if someone had given me this info, I was finally passed to a English man called Jack at Clear Cover Compare who wanted me to take out insurance policy, the excuse was he was extendedin an existing policy. Very poor line. A caller with a strong Indian accent claimed to be calling from BT claiming that somebody had been using my internet connection without my permission. I have had various calls of this nature from other numbers recently, one of them asking for remote access to my computer. They hung up when I told them that I had recently checked the hub admin screen and had seen no evidence of misuse.

Argos Gift Scam. Received a text message from this same Ambulance chaser number 07742178682 on 16/11/19 but the text says "Congratulations, you ve won the ?500 gift from Argos. Don t miss out!" and includes a dodgy web link -DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK! Argos apparently do not notify you of prizes via SMS.
