I have received numerous calls from these people over the past few weeks on my mobile, which i use for both business and personal calls, they are more frequent when I bump my advert on Gumtree, so i can only deduce that they are scouring Gumtree for numbers to call. Yesterday and today I have answered the calls and stated that my number is registered with TPS, and to please stop calling. A scam call from “ Inside Revenue” trying to glean tax information. The foreign sounding man said he could help with claiming the marriage allowance! I told him that as I worked for HMRC anyone who claims the marriage allowance simply has to tick a box on their tax return and there is no need for any interference from a company calling themselves “Inside Revenue”. My advice is give no information and block the number.

Got a call today from this number:.... 0800 759 0420. They are saying from Sky TV and that they are giving away Free Sky HD boxes. When asked what do I need to do.... They said please confirm your Sky ID & Security details.... I said you are not Sky this is a dodgy call. then they hanged up. 15 minutes later they called back. same person and same story. DO NOT GET THEM ANY INFORMATION.

A lady claiming she was from century finance saying my loan application had been accepted and I paid the 75 pounds to them then when paid they said money would be in by 2:20 this afternoon and was never in when I rang back to get my money back. Rang me on my mobile apparently I had been involved in a traffic accident!!! I told the lady, "I don't drive" (I do), she hung up. Ambulance chasers avoid and block number.

Also received a text saying I had subscribed to footy-tipster.com (never heard of them) at 4.50 per week which I thought was just spam. When the charge appeared on my account I contacted my service provider who immediately refunded the money to me and placed a premium rate call block on my account.

We had a call from "Virgin Media" to say there was a fault with our new router which was replaced last week. I was only half awake so went through quite a process before I twigged - how did they know we had just had a new router fitted - it was the fact they new that which made me think it was real. Someone is working for Virgin who must be giving this information and telephone number

This is a scam. Pretend to be Eon, and I actually paid them money. Unfortunately Eon have confirmed that this was not them. My banks Fraud Department got the money back for me though.
