I received a call from this number this morning asking me to confirm details of my router, telling me that someone else had been using it and trying to hack into it. I told her that there was not a problem. She kept telling me that I needed to give her details of passwords etc so I hung up after telling her several times that I wasn't interested and knew that it was a scam call.

01794399253 called my landline on Thursday 13 July and a recorded message advised me that money had been transferred from my account and to key 1 to sort it. 01794 is a Romsey UK number as is my number so I assumed it was local. I did not continue with the call. It was the same as other messages that I have received recently mentioned Amazon. How do scammers phone from local numbers?

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 19167122xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with FIRST ASSIST - car accident claims, insurance marketing, PPI.
